What is circular dichroism?

Circular dichroism (CD) is a spectroscopic technique used to examine the chiral properties of molecules. It measures the difference in the absorption of left- and right-circularly polarized light. CD spectroscopy is commonly used in biochemistry and structural biology to study the secondary structure of proteins, nucleic acids, and other biomolecules, as well as to analyze chiral molecules and their interactions.
