What is CHEOPS?

CHEOPS (CHaracterising ExOPlanet Satellite) is a European Space Agency mission dedicated to characterizing exoplanets. It measures the sizes of known exoplanets by precisely measuring the slight dimming of light from their host stars as the planets transit in front of them. This data, combined with known planetary masses, allows for the determination of exoplanet densities, providing insights into their composition and structure.
