CCENT (Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician) was an entry-level certification offered by Cisco Systems. It validated the skills and knowledge required for entry-level network support positions. CCENT certified professionals demonstrated the ability to install, operate, and troubleshoot a small enterprise branch network, including basic network security. It was often a stepping stone to the more advanced CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certification. Note that CCENT has been retired by Cisco; the content is now largely integrated into the current CCNA curriculum.
