What is CAPA?

CAPA stands for Corrective and Preventive Action. It is a systematic process used to identify, address, and prevent problems or non-conformances, especially in regulated industries like pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and food manufacturing. The goal of CAPA is to eliminate the root causes of issues to prevent recurrence (corrective action) and to prevent their occurrence in the first place (preventive action).
