What is Bluecoat proxies?

Blue Coat proxies, now a part of Broadcom, were a popular brand of secure web gateway solutions. They were used to filter web content, prevent malware, provide data loss prevention, and improve network performance by caching frequently accessed content. Organizations used them to enforce acceptable use policies, protect against web-based threats, and gain visibility into web traffic.
