What is BLS?

BLS, or Boneh–Lynn–Shacham signatures, are a type of digital signature scheme known for their short signatures and the ability to aggregate multiple signatures into a single, short signature. This aggregation property is particularly useful in blockchain applications for reducing transaction size and improving efficiency. BLS signatures are based on bilinear pairings on elliptic curves.
