What is BIM/VDC?

BIM (Building Information Modeling) and VDC (Virtual Design and Construction) are related but distinct concepts. It's a shared knowledge resource for information about it forming a reliable basis for decisions during its lifecycle; defined as existing from earliest conception to demolition. VDC uses BIM as a central tool, integrating people, processes, and technology to optimize the design, construction, and operation of built assets. VDC often focuses on project management, collaboration, and lean construction principles, using BIM data to simulate and analyze project workflows, identify potential issues, and improve overall project outcomes.
