What is Bill of Materials?

A Bill of Materials (BOM) is a comprehensive list of raw materials, components, assemblies, sub-assemblies, parts, and the quantities of each needed to manufacture an end product. It's essentially a recipe for creating something. BOMs are used in manufacturing, engineering, and product development to plan purchases, control inventory, manage costs, and ensure accurate and efficient production.
