What is BIAN?

BIAN (Banking Industry Architecture Network) is a collaborative not-for-profit ecosystem of banks, technology vendors, consultants, and academics. It defines a standardized architectural framework for banking IT, aiming to promote interoperability and reduce integration costs. BIAN provides a Service Landscape of business capabilities modeled as Service Domains, and a semantic API layer. It is commonly used as a reference architecture to guide the modernization of banking systems, promote agility, and facilitate digital transformation initiatives.
