What is BCP?

BCP stands for Best Current Practice. In the context of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), BCPs are documents that describe recommended ways to implement or use Internet standards, protocols, services, procedures, or other aspects of network operations. They are intended to provide guidance based on practical experience and consensus within the relevant technical community, aiming to improve interoperability, security, and overall network efficiency. The term is also used more generally in computing to describe approaches considered to be the most effective and efficient ways of performing a given task or activity.
