What is AWS Lamda?

AWS Lambda is a serverless compute service that lets you run code without provisioning or managing servers. You upload your code as a 'Lambda function', and AWS Lambda runs your code in response to events, such as changes in data, website clicks, or messages from other AWS services. You only pay for the compute time you consume - there is no charge when your code is not running. It's commonly used for event-driven applications, data processing, and backend services.
