What is Auth 2.0?

OAuth 2.0 is an authorization framework that enables third-party applications to obtain limited access to an HTTP service, either on behalf of a resource owner or by allowing the third-party application to obtain access on its own behalf. It's commonly used for allowing applications to access user data from other services (like Google, Facebook, etc.) without requiring the user to share their passwords with the application.
