What is ASME IX?
ASME Section IX of the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC) relates to the qualification standard for welding, brazing, and fusing procedures; welders; brazers; and welding, brazing, and fusing operators. It prescribes rules for the qualification of welding procedures as well as the performance qualification of welders and welding operators for components fabricated according to other sections of the ASME BPVC. It is commonly used to ensure the integrity and safety of welded joints in boilers, pressure vessels, and related components.
