What is ASA/Firepower?

Cisco ASA (Adaptive Security Appliance) and Firepower are network security platforms. ASA traditionally provides firewall, VPN, and basic intrusion prevention services. Firepower is a next-generation firewall (NGFW) platform that integrates with ASA or can be deployed as a standalone appliance.
