What is APN?

APN stands for Access Point Name. It is a configuration setting on mobile devices that tells the device which gateway to use when connecting to the internet using cellular data. It's essentially the name of the pathway the mobile network operator provides for the device to connect to the internet. Different APN settings are often needed for different services, such as general web browsing, MMS messaging, or tethering.
