What is ALS?
ALS most commonly refers to Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. It is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, causing loss of muscle control. There are other technologies with the acronym ALS; for example, Adaptive Lighting System in automotive technology, and Automatic Location System in emergency response. Without specifying the domain, the most common use of the term is Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.
