What is AlienVault?

AlienVault, acquired by AT&T and later spun out as OpenText Cybersecurity, provided a unified security management platform, primarily known as AlienVault USM (Unified Security Management). It combined essential security tools like SIEM (Security Information and Event Management), intrusion detection, vulnerability assessment, asset discovery, and threat intelligence into a single solution. It was commonly used by small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) to improve their security posture by providing threat detection, incident response, and compliance management capabilities. USM Anywhere, a cloud-based version, was also offered.
