What is ACMA?

ACMA stands for the Australian Communications and Media Authority. It is a statutory authority of the Australian government responsible for the regulation of broadcasting, the internet, radiocommunications and telecommunications. ACMA's role includes consumer protection, industry self-regulation, and managing access to radiofrequency spectrum. It sets and enforces standards for telecommunications equipment and services to ensure they are safe and reliable, and promotes media and communications literacy.
