What is 3DS?

3-D Secure (3DS) is a security protocol designed to add an extra layer of security for online credit and debit card transactions. It works by authenticating the cardholder before the transaction is authorized, typically by redirecting the user to their card issuer's website or app to verify their identity using methods like passwords, one-time passcodes, or biometric authentication.
